#BlackLaborMatters

the power of Black Labor

I intend no offense when I say Black Lives matter to us Black folk but our Black Labor matters to ‘them’.

When ‘they’ take away our lives, we hurt.
When we take away our labor, ‘they’ hurt.

Black labor throughout history has been a valuable commodity to ‘Western’ powers, a commodity they vehemently refuse to pay fair price for.

If, following the death of a Black person by police, we all took the next day off in protest, the wheels of justice would turn swiftly. Someone will be held accountable.

This is the power of Black Labor. Used wisely it will cause civil disobedience to to be felt in the pockets of the oppressors.

We ARE a labor organisation

#BlackLaborMatters can be used to create conditions for collective bargaining on local, state and federal level. By staging well-organized massive walk-outs for short periods of time we can #DISRUPT using our labor and our feet. Feet alone may spark a conversation. Add a labor movement and we can spark action.

An example: Working with anyone available that can, should take a #4hrLunchBreak, say, at 1PM all over Philadelphia.

This could be restricted to #BlackLaborMatters supporters at the airport. When supporters from random service departments, including TSAs, take long breaks to walk with the striking workers, delays will happen.  As long as planes can land and take off safely and life and limb are protected, as Dick gregory says, “There will be no heads to beat”.
